Neil Olson
Of Counsel, Bolton Group
Still in law school, Neil started his career in financial services. He ended up working with three different financial institutions, both in operations and in law. Then, after a 15-year stint as the head of a data sharing cooperative, he joined the Oxford, Mississippi–based financial technology company that acquired that cooperative as its longtime chief legal officer, then general counsel.
It was during this time he honed his knowledge and expertise in intellectual property, regulatory compliance, privacy and cyber security, and the challenges and rewards of startup companies (including capital raising and mergers and acquisitions).
Since the sale of the financial technology company, he has provided consulting and legal services to other financial services companies as well as startup companies in general.
During this time he has been pleased to work with Chip Bolton and has joined his firm as Of Counsel.
Neil received his bachelor’s degree from Pomona College in Claremont, California, and his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles.
He is admitted to the California State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar and lives in Southern California.

Most engagements start with an informal 30-minute conversation about you, what your business is working on and whether we’re a good fit. No prepared pitch, no commitment to engage.
